“A One-of-a-Kind Gift” — a children’s play by Orna Porat

Princess Anne’s birthday has arrived, and the entire palace is filled with excitement. But Anne is sad: the king and queen are stuck on the other side of the kingdom and will not make it back in time for the celebration.

To cheer her up, George, the royal advisor, announces a special competition: whoever brings the princess the gift that will make her happiest will win a prize.

Among all the expensive, glittering gifts, one simple, creative, and surprising gift manages to intrigue Anne. The problem is that no one knows who sent it.

The princess sends Ron, the young palace servant, to discover the answer, and he returns with news: the gift was sent by a prince from a distant land. Anne is convinced that only a prince could have thought of such a special gift, and eagerly awaits meeting him at the celebration.

But what is this mysterious gift? Will the prince really arrive? And where did Ron disappear to just before the party?

A funny, moving, and magical play about creativity, imagination, true friendship, and the simple gifts that manage to warm the heart.
