In My Own Way
A multidisciplinary creation led by the heart, with artist Tamar Karavan.
Tamar Karavan invites you on a journey through her 35-year creative career: from an exhibition of drawings at the age of six in her parents’ living room; through art photographs displayed in galleries and museums; fashion photography for personal columns and magazines; directing music videos for leading musicians; and writing and directing films.
In the lecture, Karavan will discuss the path she chose to follow—not necessarily according to conventional norms, but by pursuing her creative passion and heart. Through images, she will describe where she began and how everything is connected in her work: image, art, and identity.
Karavan will return to her personal roots, sharing stories about her grandmother and mother in the context of fashion, as well as anecdotes about her father in relation to art, lifestyle, and worldview.
Through photographs and works created over the years, we will walk together along her career—or, as she prefers to call it, her creative journey—and discover how experiences, memories, fashion, art, and above all emotion became intertwined and transformed into a creative and personal journey—in her own way.
Tamar Karavan is an artist, photographer, director, and creator who incorporates emotion as a central motif in her work.
