Joseph’s coat of many colors is undoubtedly the main attraction in the fashion show held in the Book of Genesis—a show that begins with Adam and Eve’s fig leaves, continues with the goatskins on Jacob’s hands, and reaches its climax with the fine linen garments and golden chain that the guards placed on the Hebrew who was brought up from the prison pit and brought before Pharaoh.
A fascinating cultural journey in which biblical verses, the interpretations of the Sages, and Hebrew poetry are woven together, led by author Haim Be’er, writer of numerous books including Feathers, Ropes, and Leviathan in the Wind. He is Professor Emeritus of Hebrew Literature at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev and the recipient of the Bialik Prize, the Brenner Prize, and the Agnon Prize.
