The chief mocker, philosopher, and one of the last classics of the "golden age" of author’s song, Julius Kim, opens a major concert tour in Israel this autumn, timed to his 90th birthday.
Julius Chersanovich Kim was born on December 23, 1936. A renowned poet, playwright, and bard, he has written around 500 songs, more than three dozen plays and musicals; he is a laureate of the State Prize named after Bulat Okudzhava; holder of the Tsarskoye Selo Art Prize and the national prize "Musical Heart of the Theater." Since the 1960s, he has been an active participant in the human rights movement in the USSR, publishing under the pseudonym Y. Mikhailov. His works have been translated into many languages of the world.
