First Name (Shem Prati)
The Laugh Bomb that conquered France, in a new version!
Based on the play by Mathieu Delaporte and Alexandre de La Patellière, directed by Moshe Kapstein.
What was supposed to be a pleasant and lovely Parisian evening at home, with family and friends. Elizabeth prepared a special meal for everyone’s enjoyment: Pierre, her husband, a literature professor; Vincent, her brother, who has finally found his dream wife, Anna, and is about to become a father soon; and their best friend, Claude, a trombone player. Hovering above all of them is also the loving shadow of the family mother, who lives far away in the village and envelops them in love and generosity. But the evening takes a completely different turn, and none of those present will ever forget it. It starts with a game hosted by Vincent, the future father, where everyone is asked to guess the first name he chose for the baby-to-be. A witty and surprising play. The play is currently enjoying tremendous success in Paris and has even been adapted into a film. Its two writers are among the leading satirists, regular contributors to French television.
