What happens when a woman arrives at her surprise party, is handed a microphone, and asked to sum up fifty years in one beautiful, moving, and above all grateful speech?

Yifat turns 50 and is ready to deliver the perfect birthday speech: to thank her partner, family, and friends, and tell everyone how wonderful the life she has built is. But amid the blessings, songs, balloons, and candles, something begins to go wrong.

The speech spirals out of control, the perfect picture begins to crack, and everything that is not usually said aloud at birthday parties starts coming out.

SAVE THE DATE is a musical-theatrical solo performance—personal, funny, and exposed—that takes place entirely within a surprise party. The audience is not merely watching the performance, but is a guest at the party and Yifat’s friend. They arrive to celebrate with her and gradually find themselves getting to know her much better than they had planned.

Through songs, cabaret pieces, humor, and inner voices, Yifat encounters menopause, her changing body, her relationship, postponed dreams, and the good, accommodating girl who spent her whole life trying to do everything right and be worthy of love.

This is a performance about what age takes away, but also about what it may offer: self-compassion, assertiveness, courage, and the possibility of finally giving up perfection. Not because everything has been resolved, and not because 50 is the new 20, but because perhaps the time has come to stop making herself smaller and start taking up space.

A smart, warm, funny, and slightly cheeky cabaret performance that moves between laughter and pain, embarrassment and exposure, and between the woman Yifat learned to be and the actress, singer, and creator she allows herself to become.
