A multisensory children’s play, “Itamar Travels on the Walls,” at the Shoshana Damari Theater, Petah Tikva. An adaptation of the book combining digital art and video art.
A new and original adaptation of the beloved children’s book.
A performance combining innovative digital art—the first of its kind. A multisensory experience accompanied by video art that will take children (and adults) on a spectacular journey through the world of imagination and fantasy.
In Itamar’s room, three pictures hang: a colorful train, a girl with a kite, and a forest with a pair of lions. When Itamar doesn’t understand, he asks many questions, but one question troubles him especially: Why are the lion and lioness sad? After Itamar repeatedly puts off going to sleep and drives his father crazy, he gets into bed with his teddy bear and little monkey. The moment he closes his eyes, Itamar sets off to wander along the walls and enters the pictures to find answers to his questions.
The child’s strength is expressed through confronting questions and fears and solving problems through the world of fantasy and imagination, by thinking freely—without frameworks or boundaries.
