Tevye the Milkman, a poor Jew and father of five daughters, tries to provide for his family according to the commandments of religion and tradition, within a hostile and changing environment whose influence is growing.

He struggles to cope with the wishes of his grown daughters, whose choice of husbands is not to his satisfaction. In addition to the troubles at home, an expulsion order descends upon all the Jews of the town, instructing them to leave the homes where they were born and lived.

A spectacular production, directed with sensitivity and love for the magnificent work of the great Jewish writer Sholem Aleichem.
