In a neighborhood of Italian immigrants near the port in Brooklyn, Eddie Carbone (Natan Detner) and his wife raise her sister’s daughter.

Two cousins who entered America illegally arrive at the home. This is the story of a devoted and loving “father” who, in a desperate attempt to keep the “daughter” for himself, was willing to give up his family, self-respect, and life.

It is a story of terrible passion, betrayal, revenge, and primitive, natural justice confronting the judicial systems of a civilized society.

The play, considered Arthur Miller’s finest, is directed by Natan Detner.
