A practical Qigong class for beginners and those interested, led by Zohar Wilson. Held at Havatzalot, Pardes Hanna-Karkur; the price is 60 NIS.
Interested in trying Qigong classes? What is Qigong, anyway?
Qigong is the movement-based aspect of Chinese medicine, combining deep breathing work with meditation in motion. It is a slow practice that develops the abilities to listen and observe.
You are invited to come to a practical class for moving the body and using correctly the wonderful tool we have been blessed with. Movement and Qigong classes for beginners, the curious, people with or without experience, those who feel wonderful in their bodies and those who feel challenged by them, or who think they have two left hands (you are invited to discover that you actually have abilities that have been hidden until now). Everyone is welcome.
“I want to share with you the miracle that happened to me as a result of Qigong classes with Zohar. Many years ago, I stopped my piano studies at the Academy of Music in my second year in Jerusalem because of severe pain in my forearms. The medical diagnosis was ‘tennis elbow’—severe pain along the forearm, between the wrist joint and the elbow, a condition that develops among tennis players and also among those who use their arm and finger muscles extensively and repetitively.
For many years, I did not play at all because of the condition, and occasionally, when I tried to play, I stopped immediately because of the severe pain in my forearms. When I began studying Qigong with Zohar, I greatly enjoyed the hand and finger exercises and practiced them at home for my own pleasure. Once, after practicing, I approached the piano and began to play. To my astonishment, the pain had disappeared as if it had never existed. I played without feeling any pain. Since that day, I have returned to playing the piano. Whenever pain begins to appear, I immediately practice Zohar’s hand exercises, and the pain goes away.
There is no doubt that in this case, Qigong acted like a miracle cure and a great gift, restoring my joy in playing. Another discovery: the Qigong exercises I learned from Zohar also helped me relieve joint pain in my hand caused by extensive typing. When I feel pain in my hand joints after hours of working at a computer, I take a break and practice the hand exercises I learned from Zohar in Qigong, and the pain is released.”

“Practicing with Zohar has become an inseparable part of my weekly schedule. The experience begins when I arrive at the magical courtyard, whose atmosphere creates the feeling that I have reached an ‘island of sanity’ amid all the chaos happening outside.
For an hour, I give my body an energy flow while listening to my breathing and internal organs, as well as developing awareness and attention to all parts of my body. I very much enjoy the variety in the practice and Zohar’s clear and lucid way of explaining complex coordination exercises, which he simplifies and which very quickly become a pleasant flow.
I leave every practice charged with good energy and great joy, which has a wonderful effect on both body and soul. I am therefore deeply grateful to Zohar, who, in addition to Qigong, incorporates his extensive knowledge in many fields—dance, yoga, nutrition, and more. It is an experience with added value. Highly recommended!”
