A musical-literary performance of songs by Yehonatan Geffen, with Dror Keren and Revital Zaltsman, at the Netanya Cultural Center. The program also includes works by Rossini, Brahms, and Gil Shohat.
Jonathan Geffen Sings
Jonathan Geffen’s spirit, art, language, words, expressions, and persona have all been etched for many years onto the tablets of Israeli culture as a whole. With his sarcastic smile, refined wit, and rugged nobility, the poet touched the aorta of what it means to be Israeli, managing to connect young and old alike to an entire world of fascinating, high-quality poetic content—without diminishing the emotional experience or the inherent connection to the child within each of us.
Israel’s beloved actor Dror Keren will sing and recite from his wonderful texts, while the phenomenal singer and actress Revital Zaltzman will give a fresh, high-quality interpretation, in her powerful voice, to the best of his songs.
The classical repertoire will include Rossini’s The Barber of Seville, Brahms’s two dramatic rhapsodies, and an original overture by Shohat based on the song “Room for Worry.”
