A city of canals and little bridges, houseboats, and colorful blossoms—Amsterdam is a quiet and pleasant city, romantic and full of life, whose beauty conceals fascinating stories and a complex history.
🎨 In this fascinating lecture, Yoel Shtroog will take us on a journey through the city’s many facets—from the great painters who lived and created there, to the Port of Amsterdam, past and present, through the colorful markets, gardens, and tulips that have become an inseparable part of its character.
✡️ We will also visit Anne Frank’s home and learn about the city’s Jewish community, its past, and the mark it left on Amsterdam over the years.
🚲 We will stroll among the picturesque canals and small bridges, learn about the houseboats and unique architecture, and encounter another side of the city—the culture of the “coffee shops,” the Red-Light District, and the stories behind Amsterdam’s image as the “city of sin.”
