Miyazaki's World Music performed by The Symphonians

On the evening of the concert, the magical worlds of Hayao Miyazaki will come to life in two dimensions simultaneously. The chamber orchestra The Symphonians will perform famous soundtracks accompanied by the most spectacular scenes from legendary animated films, shown on a large screen.

Miyazaki’s films have long been regarded as classics of world animation. They are loved for their extraordinary stories, profound emotions, unique atmosphere, and music, without which it is impossible to imagine any of these films. On this evening, famous works by Joe Hisaishi and other composers, written for Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, Howl’s Moving Castle, Kiki’s Delivery Service, Porco Rosso, and other legendary films, will be performed live.

The music from Miyazaki’s universe is an art form in its own right. It transports listeners to worlds where anything is possible: aboard Marco Pagot’s aircraft soaring over the Adriatic, to Kiki’s cozy bakery, to Yubaba’s mysterious bathhouse, or into Totoro’s enchanted forest. Gentle, lyrical themes alternate with grand orchestral compositions, creating an astonishing palette of emotions equally close to children and adults.
