The performance FREEDOM will charge you with the spirit of Latin America: powerful, wild and irrepressible. This is the experience awaiting Israeli audiences in the new performance by the Argentine dance company Los Potros MALAMBO, taking place from March 18 to 29, 2026.

At the heart of FREEDOM is a moving story about the immense power of love—love capable of breaking every stereotype and barrier in the pursuit of freedom: being yourself.

A young wild horse, captured by gaucho cowboys and separated from his herd, finds love, support and understanding with Isabella—a girl to whom he was destined to be given as a gift by her father, Alfonso. Under the influence of love, he becomes Fausto, a handsome young man.

The inevitable conflict with Alfonso develops into a duel. Fausto wounds Alfonso and is forced to flee for his life. Isabella faces a difficult choice: lose her love, or find unlimited freedom by leaving behind the world she knows.

In 1999, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the talented choreographers and dancers Javier and Isaac Gardella founded the dance company Los Potros MALAMBO, inviting the finest Argentine malambo dancers to join. They succeeded in creating a unique dance style that harmoniously combines Argentine folklore with modern choreography, bringing malambo worldwide acclaim.

The performances of Los Potros MALAMBO received standing ovations during tours in the United States, Europe, Russia and China, and won countless awards at international dance festivals.

In 2012, Los Potros MALAMBO participated in the program Q’Viva!, which brought together the finest dancers and musicians from Latin American countries. They were also invited to Cirque du Soleil’s Signum program, and in July 2016, at the invitation of the Argentine Ministry of Culture, participated in celebrations marking the country’s 200th anniversary of independence.

Argentine folk dance malambo is a unique form of flamenco, traditionally associated with South American gaucho cowboys, showcasing courage and agility. Malambo requires virtuoso footwork, a perfect sense of rhythm, hard work and determination.

During the dance, rhythm is created by both the musicians and the dancers—with drums, sticks, heel tapping, clapping and bolas: whips with round stones attached to their ends.
