A challenging 12 km hike from Nataf through Nahal Kefira to Mevo Horon on 29 September 2026. Bus pickups start at 7:00 in Bet Yehoshua.
Welcome Back to a New Hiking Season!
After the summer break, we’re delighted to welcome both our regular hikers and those joining new, as we begin another season of hiking together. We look forward to sharing many enjoyable days on the trail, discovering new routes, renewing friendships and, of course, plenty of laughter along the way.
Our opening hike takes us into the beautiful northern reaches of the Judean Hills, following a varied route from Nataf through Nahal Kefira to Mevo Horon.
Beginning near Nataf, we descend into Nahal Kefira, following its winding channel through the rugged northern Judean Hills and past Ein Kefira, ancient agricultural terraces and remains reflecting the area’s long history of settlement. We continue through the valley towards Ein Nataf, surrounded by the characteristic Mediterranean landscape and impressive limestone slopes of the region. Towards Mevo Horon, we turn towards Tel Koka, climbing gently to the summit before descending towards Tel Ayalon and the historic Ayalon Valley, immortalised in the biblical account of Joshua. We then pass Beit HaKshatot, before joining a short section of an ancient Roman road for our final approach to Mevo Horon.
