The Phantom of the Opera is a musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber, based on the novel of the same name by French author Gaston Leroux. The show has been staged in 151 cities across 30 countries and seen by more than 150 million people. The story follows the talented singer Christine Daaé, who becomes the object of obsession for a mysterious, disfigured musical genius. It is a story about the power of true love and how even the hardest heart can become kinder and gentler.
The concert in Netanya will give audiences the opportunity to experience the dark and beautiful story of the mystical “Angel of Music,” while hundreds of burning candles will create an extraordinary atmosphere. The talented musicians will recreate and bring to life the grotesque atmosphere of mid-19th-century Paris, where the novel’s tragic events unfold.
Musicians from the Rishon LeZion Orchestra (the Israeli Opera Orchestra) and the Philharmonic Orchestra will take part in the concert.
