Course on the Book of Genesis, on Thursdays between October 15 and December 24, at the Leisure Center in Ness Ziona. 10 sessions with Eli Maimon.
The Book of Genesis is the beginning of all beginnings in life—as private individuals, as a couple, as parents, as siblings, and as a family that will become the people of Israel.
What does God want to tell us through these stories? What values does He equip people with as they set out into a world and a life full of challenges?
What can we learn about relationships within the family from the stories in Genesis, and what should we conclude from the stories of Jacob and his family about the people of Israel today and in general?
What do the world’s best-known stories look like when we delve beyond their literal meaning?
In this course, we will cover the entire Book of Genesis and examine it from fascinating human and philosophical perspectives. Together, we will uncover the profound intent of the texts and their relevance to our lives as individuals and as the people of Israel.
