About the Activity

Nature is everything around us—the smell in the air after the rain, a rock that has not moved for millions of years, and birds migrating to warm, distant lands. We invite your children to discover this wonderful world that is right under our noses—or above them.

In our nature club, we will learn together that every small patch of land is a whole world—a playground and a life lesson at the same time. And the best way to do this? Through exploration, observation, experimentation, and personal experience—quite literally hands-on.

The meetings take place once a week, on a fixed day. During the year, your children will become trackers, nature explorers, and artists; experience exciting adventures; and learn unique skills.

When and Where Does It Take Place?

The club takes place once a week, on Mondays from 16:00–17:30, in Atlit, in the Nahal Oren area currently undergoing renewal by the Carmel Drainage and Streams Authority, Limor Grove, or another natural site in the community. Our nearby surroundings include a eucalyptus grove, Khirbet Qarta, Nahal Oren, the salt evaporation ponds, and the seashore—a wonderful variety of settings for adventures!

The club will include approximately 28 meetings per year, led by a dedicated and professional instructor.

Register for an introductory meeting on 5/10/26, either from 16:00–17:00 or from 17:00–18:00.

What Will We Do in the Club?

Survival and Early Humans: We will learn the fire circle—how to light a fire safely and responsibly; build shelters from logs and branches; and explore basic foraging methods to understand how much wisdom and cooperation are needed to live in nature.

Keen Senses and the Language of the Forest: We will learn the language of birds—distinguishing between a calm chirp and an alarm call; practice camouflage and stealth techniques that develop concentration and inner quiet; and set out on expeditions following the signs and tracks of animals in the field.

Art from the Earth: We will create natural paints from leaves and peels, draw with charcoal from the campfire, and create “spirit animals” and tools from mud—a hands-on experience connecting simple creativity, natural materials, and imagination.

Environmental Responsibility: We will explore Nahal Oren, seasonality, seasonal flow monitoring, flora and fauna diversity, the Nahal Oren estuary, the Qarta Nature Reserve, flow during rainy days, and the phenomenon of flash floods. We will learn how to protect the beach and the open space around us.

Birdwatching: We will conduct birdwatching tours around the evaporation ponds of Israel Salt Industries; learn about flamingos, common terns, and little terns; discuss bird migration; and prepare nesting boxes and bird feeders.

Seasonal Surprises: We will go on focused excursions to meet the narcissus, “King of the Marsh”; explore the story of the generous carob tree; and celebrate Tu BiShvat by planting trees and preparing gifts for nature.

This is an opportunity to give your children tools that will serve them throughout their lives: responsibility, curiosity, and a genuine connection to the world in which we live.

Places are limited—secure your child’s place as soon as possible. The club will operate subject to a minimum number of registrants.

♥️ Please note: The monthly price for the club is only NIS 275 for guests (or NIS 250 for members), but payment is annual and made in a single installment.

The club will take place from October 2026 through June 2027.

For your convenience, payment can be made in up to 12 equal installments, interest-free.
