A lecture and musical performance about the cultures of the Andes Mountains on 01/04/2027 at Einan Hall, Modiin. There will be a performance by the Latin American Folklore Ensemble with musicians playing original instruments.
Sounds of the Andes
Lecture - A journey through breathtaking landscapes to the peaks of the ancient cultures of the Andes Mountains. Bolivia, Peru, and Ecuador from a different perspective. We will move along paths conveying revolutionary ideas of equality and social justice in the ancient Inca Empire. And also... what is the connection between the Incas, Karl Marx, Che Guevara, the kibbutz movement... and the hippie generation?! Lecturer: Naftali Hilger, lecturer, geographic photographer, and cultural researcher.
Performance - The Latin American Folklore Ensemble
A moving musical performance featuring the best hits of the popular, folkloric, and popular Latin American repertoire, Argentina, and the Andes countries. A group of musicians with original Latin American instruments sing and play a variety of original instruments from the folk and native rural music of the Andes countries. The program will include excerpts from the Misa Criolla and Navidad Nuestra alongside well-known and beloved songs and instrumental pieces, the classics of the popular repertoire of South America.
