A lecture with Kobi Hovav + a screening of Young Washington

One evening. One lecture. One film that suddenly gains much greater depth.

We begin with 40 minutes of a fascinating lecture by Kobi Hovav, which will introduce us to the story, period, and characters behind the film—and immediately afterward, a screening of Young Washington.

Lecture synopsis

This was supposed to be the New World, but the problems were old and familiar: money, status, land, and control. A dramatic journey into the world of the young Washington, where a local struggle in the Ohio Valley ignited a global war and heralded the birth of a nation.
