The war has ended. Residents of the North return home. Sisters Rona and Galiya also return to their childhood home, which they had turned into a luxurious cottage complex years ago when they left. They haven't visited their father, Amos, since he divorced their mother, whom they blame for breaking up the family. Now, their return is driven by an emotional reason: their youngest sister, Aya, who stayed with Amos and his new partner throughout the period, is getting engaged!
Although the great war may have ended, family wars erupt quickly. What was supposed to be an emotional family reunion turns into a weekend that will change the lives of all family members forever.
Current, moving, and surprising—Hallel Meitalphonk’s new play, written by one of Israel’s leading playwrights, is a deep reckoning with the divided Israeli identity following national and personal wars. It is written in the elegant charm and wit characteristic of this great playwright.
