"Far From Home" tells the story of Omer, a boy who is evacuated from his home in central Israel due to war. Feeling lonely and longing for what he left behind, Omer meets two children his own age in his new community and asks to build a "house" with them, just like the one he had at home. But when he realizes they are collecting toys and books for displaced children, he hides his true story.
A rare migratory songbird lands in the heart of the garden and needs care, bringing the three children closer together. They joyfully build their "house" together, but just then, everything goes wrong... This is a story about the essence of home: a physical home, a temporary home, and the home in the heart. It is also a story about friendship, the ability to open one's heart to others, and identifying with their pain and difficulties. Finally, it is a story about contemporary Israeli children.
