About the Event

How is a song born? What is inspiration? And when does that magical moment arrive when the blank page begins to fill?

Two poets at the beginning of their careers embark on a journey among books, following Hebrew poetry. Along the way, they encounter three beloved songs and three canonical poets:

• Leah Goldberg, who looks through a window and sees a white flower—a flower from somewhere else—and remembers how she, too, once came here from a distant place, writing “Pizmon LaYekinton.”
• Ehud Manor, who longs for the cypress tree he saw outside his window as a child and writes “The Cypress Alone.”
• Miriam Yalan-Stekelis, walking down the street with a big question (“How do you write about love?!”), from which the song “Danny the Hero” is born.

This visual-musical theater production, designed entirely from books, invites children—and parents—on an inspiring journey of sounds and words, following the songs, stories, and once-in-a-lifetime moments in which poetry is created.

A production that reveals the stories behind beloved songs and connects children to the creative process and to its exciting, painful, and meaningful stages.
