Maestro Gil Shohat hosts Eli Luzon for the first time! A surprising and innovative musical summit on one stage, where Maestro Gil Shohat invites soul legend Eli Luzon to a concert in which the boundaries between classical and popular, East and West, disappear. Under the baton and artistic direction of Shohat, Luzon’s iconic songs are given new, touching life thanks to brilliant and rich orchestrations. The highlight is recorded in powerful performances of the hits "Izo Medina" (Which Country), "Pari Ganich" (Fruit of Your Garden), and "Geshem" (Rain), which have transformed from pop-Mediterranean creations into sweeping musical dramas accompanied by the Polyphony Ensemble. Luzon’s rough and moving voice blends with surprising precision with the orchestral sound, creating a connection that pierced straight to the audience's heart.
The classical part of the evening is no less powerful, as Shohat presents a bold and innovative interpretation of Beethoven’s Pathétique Sonata. The maestro performs a unique new version in which the well-known sonata has become a piano concerto with original and fresh orchestration, emphasizing the Beethovenian drama through a modern prism.
