The Barrelhouse Jazzband is one of the most famous and successful groups on the international traditional-jazz scene. It is Europe’s oldest independent jazz ensemble, performing continuously since 1953 while maintaining complete artistic freedom. The musicians have given concerts in 58 countries across five continents and performed on the world’s most prestigious stages.
Their artistry is a living, authentic jazz that honors its roots while sounding unexpectedly contemporary. The concert program features a wide range of classic jazz and blues masterpieces, New Orleans music, Creole jazz, and newer original compositions by the ensemble.
