More details
This year marks the 25th anniversary of Yefim Alexandrov's unique project "Songs of the Jewish Shtetl"! The world press unanimously recognized it as a unique musical project in Yiddish, without analogs in the world, and the creator himself, Yefim Alexandrov, was awarded numerous domestic and international awards and titles. A favorite among audiences, Yefim Alexandrov is a composer, artist, singer, and keeper of the Yiddish song tradition. Let us remind you that Alexandrov's past performances in our country were a huge success in 2022. And now, finally, the author, artistic director, and director of the project "Songs of the Jewish Shtetl," Yefim Alexandrov, returns to Israel with a grand anniversary tour. Over the 25-year history of the project "Songs of the Jewish Shtetl," Yefim Alexandrov has introduced the Israeli public to many thematic musical programs. The anniversary tour will feature songs from the artist's new albums, as well as all the favorites beloved by audiences over these 25 years. "Songs of the Jewish Shtetl" is music that preserves the breath of the bygone era of Jewish shtetls, the warmth of the souls of our ancestors, who, through terrible trials, managed to carry the light of Shabbat candles, the light of the Jewish soul. Mama loshn, "mother tongue," is how Jews named Yiddish. These songs are like an open door to the past, where the smell of Sabbath baking fills the air, where lullabies in Yiddish are heard, where every gesture is care, and every word is a blessing. In these unique melodies, the voices of our beloved grandparents, our fathers and mothers, can be heard.
