Mikhail Labkovsky is a practicing psychologist with 30 years of experience and, for the past 20 years, also a television and radio host. He was born in Moscow and enrolled in the psychology department hoping to solve his own problems—and learned how to solve them. He worked as a teacher and school psychologist, including at the famous school now known as School 1543, which was the subject of the film Tender Age.
He lived, studied, and worked in Israel for some time, earning a second degree in psychology there. In Jerusalem, he worked on negotiations between couples who were divorcing while also dividing custody of their children and their property. At the Jerusalem Municipality, he was a staff psychologist with the service working with adolescents in juvenile detention centers.
In Moscow, he runs his own practice, providing individual, group, and family therapy. For eight years, he hosted the program Adults About Adults on the radio station Echo of Moscow. He currently appears on Rules of Life on the Kultura channel, discussing relationships with parents and children, self-love, addictions, jealousy, and self-esteem.
He is absolutely convinced that one should live in a way that feels good—and that, in order to feel good, one should do only what one wants to do and not do what one does not want to do.
