A young boy plays with a tree near his home. He climbs it, eats its fruit, swings from its branches, and enjoys its shade. At some point, the boy grows up; he returns to the tree that was once the scenery of his childhood, but he no longer plays beside it. Now, the tree offers him other things it can give him. The boy visits the tree as a teenager, then as a young adult, then as a father to children, later as an older man, and finally as an elderly person. Each time, the tree offers different gifts. A magical and touching unconditional giving from the tree to the child, and the small things that make us happy. Recommended for ages 2–8.
