The Vertigo Dance Company presents a new ballet performance "KUMA" "KUMA" is an unusual ballet, a vibrant ritual experience in real-time, created by the Vertigo Dance Company in collaboration with musician Itamar Doari. This ballet has no templates, but there is a transition from conventional dance structures to free improvisation. Costumes for the ballet "KUMA" are created by the famous Israeli designer Sasson Kedem, whose outfits in pastel tones are individual images that move along with the body and create a sculptural sensuality, a flexible and colorful shell that moves with the dancers and changes alongside them.
Surrounding the dancers in a semicircle are musicians – double bass, cello, guitar, synthesizer, percussion instruments, which ring in the hands of performer and composer Itamar Doari. The Vertigo Dance Company was founded in 1992 by choreographer Noa Wertheim together with her husband, also a dancer and choreographer, Adi Shaale. The first professional collaboration between Shaale and Wertheim was a small duet called Vertigo. The inspiration came from Adi's personal experience related to the feeling of dizziness during his training in the air force. The performance "Dizziness" was built around the idea of losing control not only in the air but also in relationships. After the premiere of this duet, both of them came up with the idea of creating their own company with the same name. 33 years have passed, but this Israeli troupe continues to gain momentum in its swirling.
The ensemble is becoming increasingly well-known and interesting, having gained many admirers over the years, including abroad. Vertigo is invited to many prestigious festivals.
