The Israel Land Authority and Society for the Protection of Nature’s “Going Outdoors” Festival invites you to a tour along the lower Jordan River—the southern Jordan!
A promenade has been paved between Degania Dam, where the Jordan River flows out of the Sea of Galilee, and the renovated Alumot Dam. Walking along it offers a sense of following the Jordan River as it was many years ago. The riverbank vegetation and water birds take center stage, appearing in all their glory. The renovated Alumot Dam is a unique ecological dam—the only one of its kind in Israel—which takes the needs of both nature and people into consideration.
We will begin our route near the Rob Roy site and immediately follow the banks of the Jordan River. This shady, easy-going route is the perfect opening to a perfect day.

The tour is not accessible; young children may be brought in baby carriers.
