Part of the “Time for Forgiveness” event series – four events during the month of Elul, presented by “Meshiv HaRuach” and “Rishut Harabim.”
Hosted by poet Charets Lubicz, featuring poet Bilal Sarluawi and paytan (liturgical poet) Itzhak Ben Ya’akov.
Liturgical poetry (piyyut) accompanying prayer is the ancient foundational form of Hebrew poetry. Piyyutim accompanied Jews in all communities from birth to death, through moments of joy and sorrow, holidays and Sabbaths, culminating in the Days of Awe (Selichot and Tishrei holidays). At this event, we celebrate the ancient piyyut and new Hebrew poetry that infuses fresh content into these old forms to create a new Jewish-Israeli poetry.
We will sing familiar piyyutim, discover unique piyyutim from various Jewish communities, and discuss with poet Bilal Sarluawi the power of ancient forms to breathe life into new Hebrew poetry.

Doors open one hour before the show starts; arriving early is recommended. Food and drinks can be ordered via waiters/waitresses before the performance.
