The Story of Hebrew | Experiential Summer for Families at the Academy of the Hebrew Language

Who decides the issues of Hebrew and how does it relate to us?
What was done in Hebrew a thousand years ago and how does it affect us today?
Who were the pioneers of Hebrew and how did the children help them?
What do the objects from the house of Eliezer Ben‑Yehuda tell us?

Together we will discover what Hebrew meant to its speakers and readers in the past and what it means for us now, get to know special linguistic phenomena (not only in Hebrew!) and find out what they reveal about the language and about ourselves.

Program Overview

• Guided, interactive activity that includes a game for visitors.
• Tour of an exhibition displaying Eliezer Ben‑Yehuda’s original Mikhtav (letter), the handwritten notes of the renowned lexicographer Avraham Even‑Shoshan, and more.

Practical Details

• Suitable for children (age 5+) accompanied by an adult.
• When: Summer months, on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
• Price: 40 ₪ per participant.
