Photography exhibition documenting Nahal Ravida before, during, and after Highway 16 works. The location is at Sefra Square, Jerusalem. The event showcases changes in the landscape and environment. Admission is free.
Nahal Rivida runs through the valley between the Beit Hakerem neighborhood, Givat Shaul, and the Har Nof neighborhood in Jerusalem, ending near the Beit Zait reservoir. This hidden natural gem in the heart of the city is a space where scenery and quiet meet. In recent years, following the paving of Road 16, the river underwent dramatic changes that left a deep imprint on the landscape and the character of the area.
This collection of photographs aims to examine the different layers of the river: before the works were carried out, during the works, and after the works, and to explore how the landscape has been scarred, altered, and is beginning to be rebuilt.
Menachem Hanani is a Jerusalem resident of about six decades, living in the Beit Hakerem neighborhood. He is a (retired) professor at the Hebrew University School of Medicine and Hadassah Hospital, working in research and teaching in the field of brain sciences. Since childhood he has pursued photography as a hobby.
