Esther, who lives in America, receives a mysterious letter after her mother’s death. She is asked to locate a woman who lived in Mandatory Palestine in the 1930s and guards a secret connected to her life. Esther arrives in Israel and contacts Professor Zaide, who helps her with her search.

The 1930s. A pioneer settlement in the valley, immersed in the atmosphere of a new world. Moshe, a widower and father of two, hires a woman to help him maintain the household. Yehudit’s arrival upheaves his life—and those of two other men: Yaakov, a romantic farmer, and Gloverman, a cattle merchant. Within a romantic triangle, the threads between past and present become intertwined, and Esther and Zaide uncover one shattering truth.
