The Herzliya Municipality, the Tourism Development Company, and the Israel Nature and Parks Authority invite you to experience the story of the Crusader period in Apollonia. The program includes interactive lectures, a try-at-archery-and-dance activity, and viewing demonstrations of siege weapons. There is an option to make a pendant for a nominal fee, and sign language interpreter assistance is available.
The Herzliya Municipality, the Herzliya Tourism Development Company, and the Israel Nature and Parks Authority invite you to hear the fascinating and colorful story of the Crusader period in Apollonia through a variety of vibrant activity stations.
Who were the Crusader knights? Why did they come here? Who did they fight, and what was their daily life like?
As part of the activity, you can participate in dynamic lectures that engage the audience and present tools and costumes from the era. You will experience ladies' dancing and archery. Enjoy the sounds of bagpipes and other games and reenactments.
At the center of the activity, you can admire large models of siege weapons used against the Crusader fortress and watch demonstrations of their operation.
Those interested can create their own special necklace with a Seneschal seal pendant at a symbolic-fee craft station.
Brief guided tours will take place every half hour at the Roman Villa and the Fortress.
A sign language interpreter will accompany the activities and tours.
