Gadyukino Village: Weather Forecast

On October 22, a literary evening with Viktor Shenderovich titled “The Village of Gadyukino: Weather Forecast” will take place in Haifa.

Viktor Shenderovich is known as a writer, journalist, and playwright who worked for many years as a writer for the cult television program Kukly. His work has received numerous literary and journalism awards, as well as recognition as a symbol of intellectual satire. His books and performances always resonate with audiences.

“The Village of Gadyukino” has already become part of Russian folklore. Over the course of his career, the author has found himself in various roles—as a television host, a “foreign agent,” and even a “terrorist.” However, these metamorphoses reflect the characteristics of the times more than the author’s personality.

The literary evening’s program will feature both new and already classic texts, including rarely performed works about the “native village,” the time in which we live, and the events in our lives.

The evening will conclude with an autograph session and a presentation of Viktor Shenderovich’s new books.
