“Love Letters.” A play featuring Dina Berdnikova and Sergey Karaban

“Love Letters” is the most famous play by American playwright A. R. Gurney, a recognized classic of the second half of the 20th century. In his works, he wrote extensively about relationships, loneliness, and how people spend years trying to understand one another.

This is the story of two people told through the letters they wrote to each other throughout their lives. Through the years, cities, mistakes, tenderness, separations, silence, and those very words we sometimes never dare to say aloud. Simple in form but subtle, vivid, funny, and poignant, this production is about love, intimacy, time, and how human destinies unfold.

The play premiered in London in June 2026. The production is directed by Sergey Karaban. The roles will be performed by actors Sergey Karaban and Dina Berdnikova.

Sergey Karaban is a theater and film actor and director. He graduated from the Moscow Art Theatre School (Dmitry Brusnikin’s studio). An actor with Brusnikin’s Workshop, he has collaborated with the Meyerhold Center and Praktika Theatre, actively appears in films and television series, and directs independent theater projects.

Dina Berdnikova is an actress, founder of the Bukutoku book club, and co-founder of the Arbuzz Lectures cultural project. Her career includes work in Russia, Israel, the United States, and the United Kingdom. In London, she performs in theatrical productions, creates literary projects and original shows, and works as an actress and host of cultural events.
