In Haifa’s bustling 2034/2035 area lies a wondrous natural gem: Saadia Stream.
Saadia Stream is a perennial stream with six springs of clear water, abundant wildlife, and unique vegetation.
Join us for a fascinating tour to discover the rich natural world thriving in the heart of the city and hear the story of the stream and the struggle over its future.
🍀 Rare and diverse nature: We will get to know the unique animals and plants growing here, including the blue water lily—a rare, protected aquatic plant that is endangered.
🍀 A rich history: We will travel back in time and hear what the stream looked like in the past, what surrounded it before the establishment of the State of Israel, and how the area has changed over the years.
🍀 A stream in danger: We will learn about the threats facing Saadia Stream and the construction plans that could alter the stream’s course and seriously damage its natural ecosystem. We will also hear about the public campaign to save it and understand how we, too, can take part.
🍀 An experiential activity for the whole family: We will enjoy investigative games, identify animal tracks, and become closely acquainted with the local nature.
🍀 Protecting the stream: We will set aside special time to clean the stream and preserve the animals’ habitat—for nature and for visitors.
