Yan Kozlovsky's group dedicates a concert to the legendary American jazz pianist and composer Horace Silver. The program will feature famous compositions and musical standards by the master. Five professional Israeli musicians will perform on stage.
The Jonathan Kozlowski Quintet pays tribute to Horace Silver, an American pianist and composer who greatly influenced jazz in the second half of the 20th century. He burst onto the scene in 1954 as a member of the Jazz Messengers. Later, he formed his own quintet, recording dozens of masterpiece albums with top jazz musicians rotating through the lineup over the years. His unique writing style incorporates diverse influences: raw blues music, gospel, and fascinating Latin and Afro-Cuban rhythms. Many of his compositions have become jazz standards. In this evening, the quintet will perform from a variety of Silver's repertoire.
