Opera? Seriously?

In the past, the audience waited with anticipation for a new opera almost as eagerly as we now await a new TV series. Leaving the theatre, spectators hummed their favourite arias, choruses and melodies.
And today? Among pop music and rap, it is time to bring opera back to the centre of attention – now with theatre, humor, love and a glass of wine. “Love Drink” is a festive comedic opera show where classical music meets theatre, romance and comedy. It is an opera that is not afraid to laugh at itself and invites the audience to become part of the action.

• The Passion of Manon Lesko – and the eternal question: can money replace love?
• Lover Nemorino, a bottle of mysterious elixir, an army and an unexpectedly gained freedom.
• Amelia, who at midnight steps onto the field of execution and does not know whether to cry or laugh.
• Beautiful Elena with a boléro – because if you are Elena, you must be with a boléro.
• Rossini’s Tarantella, from which the legs start dancing on their own.
• Duets, medley and jokes – because we will not let anyone go just like that.

Main Star of the Evening

Elena Evtushenko, dramatic soprano with a voice that can be both tragedy and comedy – sometimes within a single musical phrase.

Joining her: Sofia Gold, holder of a deep, bright and sunny‑warm mezzo‑soprano.

The show runs almost without spoken dialogue. A short introduction will be heard in Russian, while the operatic pieces will be performed in their original languages.

Each guest will receive a glass of wine during the festive reception.
