The Cuban singer Evelyn Dupuy, one of the voices most strongly identified with the spirit of deep Cuba, comes to Hot Jazz with a special tribute performance to Buena Vista Social Club—the project that brought the magic of Cuban son, bolero, and cha-cha back to the world.
She will be joined by singer Daniel Lopez Montejo, an artist with deep Cuban roots. Together, their voices will bring the harmony, warmth, and authenticity of traditional music to the stage.
They will be accompanied by a Cuban instrumental ensemble that gives the performance Havana’s full sound. Also performing alongside them will be Fernando Knopf (electric bass), who is also the musical director and one of the leading figures in Israel’s Latin music scene.
The performance will feature beloved classics from Buena Vista Social Club, including:
- Dos Gardenias
- Chan Chan
- El Cuarto de Tula
- Quizás, Quizás, Quizás
An evening full of soul, rhythm, and longing—a true Cuban celebration that brings the spirit of Buena Vista back to the stage in all its power.
