The artistic vision: Director Stefano Poda returns, this time with a completely different visual masterpiece. Instead of the customary red-and-Chinese setting, Poda has created a white, sterile, and mystical world.
The stage, costumes, and lighting—all are painted in brilliant white, emphasizing the emotional frigidity of the Ice Princess.
This is a total production combining dance, fashion, and architecture to create a transcendent experience.
The stars: Conductor Gianandrea Noseda leads the Turin orchestra in a precise musical interpretation. Rebeka Lokar is the impressive Turandot, and Jorge de León is Prince Calaf, who sings the famous “Nessun Dorma.”
Why see it? This is one of the most aesthetically striking productions to have appeared onstage in recent years—a mesmerizing experience for the eyes and ears. (Note: The production includes partial artistic nudity.)
