The Canaro musical show in the style of Manouche and Hungarian gypsy music will take place on April 3, 2027, at the Merkaz HaBama Auditorium, Ganei Tikva.
At Grey Club, doors open at 19:00, and the performance is scheduled to begin at 21:00. Taking the stage are performers in the manouche style, virtuosos from Hungary, and the legacy of the inimitable Django in the show “The Spirit of Django Reinhardt, the Soul of Budapest’s Coffeehouses.”
Canaro is an exquisite blend of manouche swing and Hungarian Romani music—a unique musical journey between Paris and Budapest, unlike anything else you will find. When Canaro takes the stage, two worlds merge: the atmosphere of 1930s Paris, where Django Reinhardt radically transformed the artistic landscape of jazz guitar, and the lavish universe of Budapest’s coffeehouse culture with its legendary Romani maestros.
At first glance, manouche swing and Hungarian coffeehouse music may seem dissimilar, but they are closely connected, celebrating freedom, masterful improvisation, and the enjoyment of life. Canaro’s music brings these similarities to light, enriching Django Reinhardt’s classics with Hungarian elements and combining both traditions in the ensemble’s original compositions.
