Dad Makes a Fool of Himself — A Story by Meir Shalev
Ephraim’s father is different from all the other fathers. He sings songs in the street, insists on kissing Ephraim in front of everyone, is afraid of scary parts in movies, and generally causes a great deal of embarrassment. When the kindergarten announces a baking competition, Ephraim’s father stays up all night to prepare the winning cake. Is this a recipe for the greatest embarrassment of all? Or perhaps this time Ephraim will finally be proud of his father?
Come hear Meir Shalev’s charming story, accompanied by the playing of members of the Israel Philharmonic’s Brass Quintet, who weave familiar and beloved musical pieces by Bach, Handel, Schumann, Debussy, Joplin, Gershwin, and others into the story.
The performance is accompanied by a presentation featuring illustrations from the book.
