An intriguing summit that fuses the cutting edge of experimental electronic music with the depth, dynamics, and refinement of contemporary chamber music. The project, premiered to tremendous acclaim, centers on the magnificent legacy of the groundbreaking British indie label Warp Records—the legendary home of sound revolutionaries such as Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada, and Squarepusher.
In this performance, members of GESHEM, known for their unique fusion of live electronic sound with psychedelic rock and jazz, join the String Ensemble—one of the world’s leading ensembles in the performance of modern classical music. Yonatan Albalak’s rich arrangements transform the originally computerized and digital source material for strings, winds, and piano, combining with GESHEM’s mechanical precision and free improvisation to create a mesmerizing multisensory experience.
Performance duration: 60 minutes
