About the Activity

The Israel Land Authority and the Society for the Protection of Nature’s “Take It Outdoors” Festival invites you to enjoy Eilat Birdwatching Park!

A guided visit to Eilat Birdwatching Park is a wonderful way to get to know and appreciate migratory birds up close.

The large park, which covers approximately 540 dunams, is a resting and stopping place for around half a billion birds that pass over the skies of Eilat during each migration season.

The Open Spaces Fund provides extensive assistance in preserving the birdwatching park and supports its work as a nature conservation site of international importance.

Autumn offers spectacular sights of tens of thousands of migratory birds leaving their countries on a long journey during which they must cross approximately 3,000 km of desert.

Eilat Birdwatching Park is the last stopping point for these birds before they cross the desert, where they can gather strength for the challenging passage. We will walk among the various habitats the park offers these birds, hear their fascinating story, learn about the bird-banding process, and may even see birds from very, very close up.
