Would you like to see Bnei Brak as you have never seen it before? Taste and experience something new? Join a special tour of the ultra-Orthodox world that is just around the corner!
How many times have you passed by Bnei Brak and felt that beyond the road lies a different world—one that speaks and thinks differently, even in the same language you know? Now you have the opportunity to discover the secret world of the ultra-Orthodox who are just around the corner...
Bnei Brak developed from a religious-Zionist agricultural settlement into the most densely populated ultra-Orthodox city in the country. It is a city of large families with many children, where there are poor people but no poverty. A city of charity funds, charitable institutions, and unique initiatives that can be found only in such a large and close-knit community.
During the tour, you will get to know the neighborhoods of Bnei Brak and the unique characteristics of each one: the customs, clothing, institutions—and, of course, the flavors!
You will walk along the main street, Rabbi Akiva, while visiting shops unique to the ultra-Orthodox street. You will go up to the area of the impressive Ponevezh Yeshiva, with its stained-glass windows and thousands of students. (Entry is for men only, subject to feasibility.)
Afterward, you will pass by the shtiebel, where prayer services continue without interruption 24 hours a day—day and night, all year round.
Finally, you will join a light tasting of authentic delicacies from a Jewish home—kugel, cholent, and more.
