Scholarship program for students who are residents of Be’er Ya’akov, including community volunteering. Registration is open until November 7, 2023, at the Youth and Young Adults Center in Be’er Ya’akov.
The Be’er Ya’akov Municipality, Youth and Young Adults Division, announces the establishment of a scholarship program במסגרת which scholarships will be awarded to student residents of Be’er Ya’akov. As part of the program, students will carry out social/community volunteer activities.
The scholarship program is held in cooperation with the Perach Foundation, the Davidson Institute, and additional organizations. It is intended for the benefit of Be’er Ya’akov residents and aims to encourage higher education among the city’s young population.
a. Israeli citizenship.
b. Resident of Be’er Ya’akov.
c. A student studying in Semesters A and B at an institution recognized by the Council for Higher Education, toward an academic degree (first, second, or third) recognized by the Council for Higher Education; toward a teaching certificate recognized by the Council for Higher Education; or toward an engineering technician diploma at an institution recognized by the National Institute for Technological Training; or a student taking a course funded and supervised by the Division of Vocational Training in the Labor Branch (Ministry of Labor, Welfare and Social Affairs), excluding students who received tuition assistance במסגרת the “Vouchers Program.”
This also includes:
d. Receipt of the scholarship is conditional on community volunteering במסגרת projects operated by and/or in cooperation with the municipality. The required volunteer commitment is a minimum of 70 hours and up to 140 hours, depending on the scholarship type and the needs of the city and its residents.
e. The student does not receive another scholarship from the Perach Foundation during the academic year.
f. The student must complete the forms and submit the following required documents:
The Be’er Ya’akov Municipality will establish a professional public scholarship committee consisting of:
The municipal comptroller and legal adviser will be permanent invitees to the committee as observers.
a. Students who meet all the conditions and criteria specified in Section 1.
b. Preference will be given to scholarship applications submitted by undergraduate students.
c. Preference will be given to students who do not receive any scholarship or financial assistance to fund their studies from other organizations, including exemptions, discounts, and similar benefits.
d. Preference will be given to students facing socioeconomic difficulties.
The student must choose one of the five tracks. Double scholarships are not permitted.
For all Be’er Ya’akov residents who meet the established criteria and undertake to perform at least 140 hours of social volunteering during the academic year:

For all Be’er Ya’akov residents who meet the established criteria and undertake to perform at least 140 hours of social volunteering during the academic year, בהתאם to the municipality’s needs and provided that the volunteer activity takes place within Be’er Ya’akov.

For all Be’er Ya’akov residents who meet the established criteria and undertake to perform at least 70 hours of social volunteering during the 2023/2024 academic year, בהתאם to the municipality’s needs and provided that the volunteer activity takes place within Be’er Ya’akov.
The scholarship amount במסגרת this track is NIS 5,000.
For Be’er Ya’akov residents from the Haredi sector who study at one of the teacher-training seminaries supervised by the Ministry of Education, meet the established criteria, and undertake to perform at least 140 hours of social volunteering during the academic year, בהתאם to the municipality’s needs and provided that the volunteer activity takes place within Be’er Ya’akov.
The scholarship amount במסגרת this track is NIS 10,000.
For Be’er Ya’akov residents from the Haredi sector who study at one of the teacher-training seminaries supervised by the Ministry of Education, meet the established criteria, and undertake to perform at least 70 hours of social volunteering during the academic year, בהתאם to the municipality’s needs and provided that the volunteer activity takes place within Be’er Ya’akov.
The scholarship amount במסגרת this track is NIS 5,000.
Selected students will undergo screening and acceptance. If found suitable מבחינת skills and availability, they will be integrated into activities and/or projects.
a. Be’er Ya’akov municipal employees applying for a scholarship must attach municipal approval for taking leave to study as a condition for processing the application.
b. City Council members applying for a scholarship who meet all the criteria בהתאם to Section 1 must receive City Council approval in addition to the approval of the professional committee referred to in Section 2 above.
Please note:
c. Eligibility for a scholarship is determined לפי the established criteria and the decision of the professional committee.
d. A scholarship will not be awarded to a student who receives a scholarship from the Perach Foundation or from any organization that provides a scholarship הכוללת Perach Foundation participation.
e. A scholarship will not be awarded to a student receiving a tuition exemption for any reason.
f. Before submitting the application, students must ensure that they are available to perform at least 70–140 hours of volunteer activity during the academic year, בהתאם to the selected scholarship program. This is a fundamental condition for receiving the scholarship.
g. Documents submitted to the committee will not be returned to applicants.
h. A clear and legible copy of every document must be attached.
i. Applications submitted with missing details and/or missing documents, as well as documents submitted separately after the application has been filed, will not be processed.
j. Attaching all required documents is an essential condition for processing the application. If a required document is missing, the committee may decline to discuss the application.
k. The scholarship is annual. A student who discontinues their studies will not be entitled to receive the scholarship.
l. Due to the situation, the application deadline has been extended. The required forms and confirmations must be submitted to the Young Adults Center no later than November 7, 2023.
