Between Trees, Blossoms, and Herb Plants – A Day in the Sharon
Guide: Hadar Yisraeli. 17.2.27
A day filled with nature, blossoms, and fascinating stories in the heart of the Sharon, right at the peak of the blooming season. We will begin the morning at the visitors’ center in Ilanot Forest, a unique botanical garden where hundreds of tree species from around the world were planted over several decades. During the visit, we will learn the story of the forest, discover how trees from different regions adapted to life in Israel, and enjoy exhibits and interactive activities illustrating the importance of trees and forests to people and the environment.
From there, we will continue to the Halbrecht Farm in Moshav Beitan Aharon—a flourishing family farm that brings together local agriculture, sustainability, and a love of the land. We will walk among the vegetable garden, fruit trees, and herb bushes; smell, taste, and learn about seasonal cultivation, local nutrition, and the journey food makes—from the soil to the plate.
After an independent lunch, we will continue to the Sergeants’ Grove in Netanya, a beautiful natural site combining impressive seasonal blossoms with a dramatic story from the period of the struggle to establish the state. From there, we will continue to the Purple Iris Nature Reserve, where we will encounter one of Israel’s rarest and most impressive wildflowers, which blooms for only a short time along the coastal plain. We will end the day on Netanya’s southern seaside promenade, facing the cliffs and open sea.
