The Lost Women of Troy
A play about the women of Troy after the war, on 23/09/2026 at 20:00 at Goodman, Beersheba. The production is based on Hanoch Levin’s version of Euripides’ tragedy.
The Trojan War is over—one of the most difficult wars in the history of ancient Greece. Troy is engulfed in flames, and amid the ruins, the Greek soldiers must decide what to do with the Trojan royal women who survived—the “grand prize” of the victorious army. Over the course of one fateful day, the Trojan women who survived the war will try to convince the Greeks to let them live and set them free. But is there even anything worth living for? What kind of freedom awaits them when the war is over? And if the war is over, why are we still fighting? Come be part of this fateful broadcast that will change everything! Hanoch Levin’s version of Euripides’ timeless tragedy, by one of Israel’s greatest playwrights, comes to Goodman in a new production—bold and more relevant than ever—that places at its center the fact that the politics and wars around us have long since become mass entertainment.
